I’m getting ready to head to The Philippines tomorrow morning, and Chris (my brother) and I are sitting here trying to get our playlists ready for this 15-hour flight, and basically 18-hour travel smh.

Anyway, one interesting thing about my playlist is that about half of it is what I like to call “white music” or “white people music” – One Republic, Maroon 5, The Fray, those kind of groups… and I was  just asking Chris to give me a playlist of white music for the plane before I wrote this post.

Don’t get me wrong, the other half of my playlist is hip-hop, but I’m always singing along to top 40 music. Just take a look at the random screenshot of my playlist in this post – the order goes from Wiz KhalifaMaroon 5, B.o.B., The Fray, Emile Sande, Chris Brown, Eminem, 2 chainz, Olly Murs, Kanye West, Big Sean, John Legend and Taylor Swift. See? Random.

Anyway, people are always surprised when they hear that because I’m best known for my work with hip-hop, which is why you’d probably consider this a guilty pleasure.

I love hip-hop, and I’ve been covering it for almost 4 years now – but I want to start expanding my work into different genres as well, and this is going to start happening next year.

Have any songs you think I should add to my playlist before this flight? Pass them along!
See you in 2014!
