JEN: What is your name and where are you from?
SUBMUZIK: I’m Submuzik Boss also known As Lil T to family and friends. And I’m from Milwaukee, WI
JEN: How did you come up with the name SubMuziq Boss?
SUBMUZIK: Pretty much came from me just being the boss of SubMuzik Recordings ha!..Lil T came from my family because I am a JR.
JEN: How old were you when you started making music?
I started producing music when I was 8 years old. I didn’t start singing until about 13-14 and then once I started Waukesha north high school I joined choir to kind of better myself, then started rapping and mixing the 2 around 15-16 years old.
JEN: You started at only 8-years-old, who or what inspired that passion for you?
SUBMUZIK: My Dad(TW) and Godfather(KB) started my whole musical addiction Ha! My dad started taking me to KB studio with him and I just watched as they created some of the timeless music I’ve ever heard, so I naturally just starting taking to it myself. KB actually gave me my first keyboard so thank you for adding to the fire that was already growing!
JEN: How would you describe your music?
SUBMUZIK: I’d describe my music as a mix of Milwaukee sound with a hint of Houston lol. I can rap with the best of them but when I do my melodies with it on my beats. It’s perfection!
JEN: Who are some of your musical influences?
SUBMUZIK: I’d say my dad because when he produces a beat his drums are always on point! Also KB because he’s MEAN! On the keys and I mix the both and create my own sound as far as my beats go. Now singing and rapping I’d say T.I definitely a huge influence on the transparency of what I write, T-Pain another one, Twista with his flows and how he can switch it up on any track he’s on. Those are definitely my top 3.
