I’ve been putting a lot of time into my website, and I set a new goal for myself – 1 million in rankings on Alexa before 2014. For those who don’t understand what I’m talking about, I’ll explain in this post.

Up until September 2013, I’d update my site 2-4 times/month, but still averaged 1500-3000 views/month. It’s not a lot, but still pretty cool getting views when I barely posted. In August, I checked my Alexa ranking – Alexa is a website where you can check the rankings of any site. The main numbers they show you is what the site ranks globally and nationally.

I’m obsessed with numbers. And when I say I’m obsessed, I really mean obsessed. In my planner, every Sunday/Monday I write down the stats from my Website, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and Alexa. On August 6, 2013, my Alexa ranking globally was at 24,325,740. That’s a terrible number, but for it to even search is still good. (Stats are only available once you reach a certain amount of viewership – not sure what the cutoff is).

Anyway, today, October 30, 2013, I am now ranked at 6,063,200 globally. That’s a HUGE climb from where I was three months ago – and the only thing I did was change the layout and got back into the habit of webisodes. Now, my goal is to be in the 1 million rank before 2014.

How am I going to do it? I wrote out a list of everything I need to do to fix my site and working down that list throughout the year. My list includes posting at least three times/week, blogging about my personal life as I used to in high school/college, adding tags on my posts for better SEO and promoting more on social media.

Look at the image below, because I promise, that ranking will be at 1 million before 2014.

Thank you to those who have been consistently coming to my site even though it probably looked the exact same from your last visit – I promise, that’s never going to be an issue again.

**UPDATE – 11/30/2013**

Exactly a month ago, I was at the 6 million range, and I am now in the 4 million range! Jumping 2 million in rankings within that short period of time is motivating me even more to hit 1 million before 2014 – and it’s definitely doable.

I’ve learned so much in this last month on how to increase my number, so I’m putting 110% effort into my site this month to reach it. I literally have a “Website To-Do List.”

Lol wow, I sound so nerdy, but I’m just so excited. I really want to be — no, I will be one of the top ranked sites in the world. Once I get closer to my desired ranking, I’ll write a post about my overall goal for the site.

Thank you to everyone who has been visiting, can’t wait to share more with you! Goodnight!

**UPDATE – 12/07/2013**

Ahhh!!! My site is now ranked 2,667,005! I’ve become so obsessed with my ranking and doing a lot of trial and error on my site to figure out what exactly it is going to be at the end of the day. My goal of reaching 1 million before 2014 is DEFINITELY happening.

Thank you everyone for putting up with my bajillion posts – It’ll be locked down before we enter into the new year.

Have a great weekend!!
